What does it mean to be an advocate for your son or daughter with Asperger 8767 s? Well, simply put, it means SOMEONE has to help your loved one with all the things they need , and all the services they are going to need to assist them with their unique issues. That someone has got to be you. There is no one else that can do it for you.
THANK YOU for this post. I have had so many awful experiences of making people angry by saying the wrong thing. I do feel like I am shell shocked and not able to let go in conversation for fear I will say something wrong. Saying something wrong that makes the other person uncomfortable is unbearable for me. So I spend all my time concentrating to prevent it. After talking I am so tired. And so to read this is a comfort because I know I am not the only one. Thank you very much. Maybe you will consider writing a book. HG
I am sorry to hear that the psychiatrist laughed at you regarding the online Asperger 8767 s tests. While it is true that these online test are NOT a diagnosis and do not give conclusive results, they do still give indications that further testing may be a good idea. In my humble opinion she was totally unprofessional in her behavior towards you and I am sorry this happened to you.

My now 68 yr old has transitioned from a diagnosis of classic autism to that of Asperger 8767 s. In the past 5 years I have recognized myself in him more and more. Our 65 yr old daughter received intensive treatment through the Infant Intervention Program in our locality when she was and improved enough to no longer qualify for services. We all took the test and our daughter scored a 76, our 68 yr old Aspie son got a 86, my husband scored 86, and I took the cake with a score of 96. I am looking for a professional for a dx, but it is difficult to find someone in our area willing to take Medicaid.
A person with OCD is generally driven to the obsessive behavior by anxiety and a fear that something bad will happen if he does not complete the repetitive ritual. He often feels ashamed of the compulsive behavior and worries what others think about it.
[ ] same as what other aspies experience, but it may begin to paint a picture of what some people with Asperger’s syndrome go thru when they find themselves around other people. This is especially true in settings where [ ]
Choice #6: You don 8767 t do anything. You can keep pretending that you have a handle on your loved one 8767 s Asperger 8767 s Syndrome or that everything will work itself out. You can just turn a blind eye to the horrible possibilities of depression, anger, lost friends, loneliness, and problems at work that could await your loved one in the future.
